Through the years of collecting, buying, and selling Funko Pops, I have determined the best way to figure out if a Funko Pop will increase in value. Here, I will share a very simple Ebay trick to help you buy Funko Pops before they increase in value. Let's begin! Vaulted?
Second, you can check this site to see if it is on the vaulted or soon to be vaulted list. Each category has a list of every vaulted or soon to be vaulted Funko Pop at the bottom of the page. I have shown an example of the Star Wars category in the image below. Ebay Supply and Demand TrickOn the ebay app or website there is a way to figure out the market supply and demand of a certain figure. In the search bar type "[Name of Funko Pop on the Box] [Box Number] Funko Pop". Hit search and you will get the number of listings for that Pop aka the supply. I will use the recently vaulted Inuyasha Funko Pop in the example below. In this example we have a supply of 23 on the market. Now let's find the demand. On the top right hit filter and select "Sold Items" to show the number sold over the last 90 days. Now we see that there were 31 sold. If we take the demand (31) and divide it by the supply (23) we will get a sell-through rate of 1.3. Any figure that has above a 1 is typically pretty good. The higher the sell-through rate the more potential the Funko Pop has to increase in price. Again, this only works if the Pop is vaulted and is no longer in production. Not all vaulted Funko Pops have potential to increase in value. Some figures such as some of the Star Wars Pops were overproduced and will likely never increase in value. I'll show an example of this below. Poe Dameron 62 has a sell-through rate of 0.2 which is not great. This figure will probably stay around the same price for a very long time just because there are so many on the market. Try it Yourself! This is a great way to add Funko Pops to your collection before they go up in value. Now that you know how to do this simple Ebay trick, try it out and leave a comment below if you find anything interesting or have any questions. I hope this helps you build a great collection at an affordable price!
